We are currently looking for:

Job profile

  • – Concept development for science-based exhibits
  • – Detailed design, construction and implementation of individual mechanical components and exhibit assemblies
  • – Creation of mock-ups and prototypes, and development of test procedures for all exhibit components
  • –  Documentation of exhibit designs

You should bring

  • – A degree in product or industrial design; mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
  • – At least 4 years’ professional experience in product development and production (including prototyping, production drawings, ordering processes and communication with suppliers and service providers)
  • – Very good experience with SolidWorks; knowledge of other programmes (such as Rhino) would be an advantage
  • – In-depth knowledge of design, manufacturing and validation methods
  • – An inventive mindset (oh yeah!)
  • – A high degree of initiative and systematic thinking
  • – Ability to zoom in (detail level) and zoom out (device level)
  • – Enthusiasm for technology and science
  • – Very good German and good English skills
  • – Willingness to work full-time in a great team

You should bring

  • – Enrollment in a technical or design program
  • – Basic knowledge of RhinoCam and/or SolidWorks is a plus
  • – Interest in digital manufacturing and practical implementation

Job profile

  • – Development and creation of holistic design concepts for a variety of clients (including museums, foundations, and political institutions)
  • – Creation of mood boards, look-and-feel guides, and visual guidelines—both graphic and spatial, as well as scenographic
  • – Development of ideas and concepts, along with their quick and clear visualization through sketches, mood boards, and rough drafts
  • – Designing and creating compelling client presentations (both in terms of content and visuals), particularly using collaborative tools such as Google Slides and Miro
  • – Conceptualizing and developing graphic designs, design systems, and style guides
  • – Overseeing the implementation and ensuring the quality of design outcomes
  • – Working closely with internal teams and communicating with clients and external service providers

You should bring

  • – Several years of professional experience (at least 5–7 years) in the relevant field
  • – Strong conceptual and design skills
  • – A keen sense of space and scenography, layout, typography, and visual dramaturgy
  • – Experience in developing and implementing design concepts for both spatial and graphic design
  • – Experience in all phases of the design process (from concept to production)
  • – Ability to convey complex ideas clearly and vividly (sketches, mood boards, rough drafts)
  • – Proficiency with common software (Adobe) and presentation tools (e.g., Google Slides, Miro)
  • – Structured and organized work style: experience in resource planning, time management, and project management
  • – Strong communication skills when interacting with clients and project stakeholders
  • – Leadership experience is a plus
  • – Business-fluent in English and German

General conditions

  • – Parental leave replacement, initially for a fixed term of 1.5 years
  • – Part-time: approx. 30 hours per week
  • – Start date: immediately / to be arranged to ensure a smooth handover with the current designer
