Yesterday, personally tested by Minister President Michael Kretschmer: Our latest project in Dresden, the first walkable Escape Room for quantum physics, opened its doors for the first time ever!

On behalf of the Excellence Cluster ct.qmat, we had the privilege of producing the entire gaming lounge, designed by our talented colleagues at Tamschick Media + Space.

Escape Room? Cat? Quantum physics? You heard that right!

The gaming lounge is based on the award-winning app by Philipp Stollenmayer, which has been downloaded more than half a million times. With it, young people can delve into the world of quantum physics.

With the new Cat Q-Escape Room, this game is now brought to life at the Technical Collection Dresden:

A mysterious box houses a walkable “quantum apartment” with four enigmatic rooms. Drawing inspiration from the famous thought experiment of quantum physics, “Schrödinger’s cat,” players can explore the secrets of particles, donuts, randomness, and entanglement. Additional background knowledge is available in its own “Kittypedia”.

Will the cat end up alive, dead, or even half-dead? That’s what needs to be uncovered!

We’re thrilled to have been part of this project, bringing such a unique digital gaming adventure into the real world.

The exhibition will open its doors regularly starting Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Suitable for ages 11 and up.
