Teaching at berlin international

Today, students from berlin international – University of Applied Sciences visited us to get an insight into our work. Our Systems Designer & Software Developer Enrico Steinfeld is teaching this semester as an external lecturer at berlin international. In his seminar “Digital Media – Virtual Reality” everything revolves around the development of interactive installations that have an analog and a digital level.

In view of the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, AI and Robotics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, the dividing line between analog and digital is becoming increasingly blurred in design as well. In this seminar, students of product design will be given the necessary tools to use the new digital possibilities. They will acquire knowledge in processing and handling Arduino boards, virtual and augmented reality and the handling of sensors and sensor data. The aim is to transform an empty frame into an interactive exhibit at the end of the semester. The students program a projection that is mapped onto the frame and is to become interactive thanks to sensors and VR technology: a living photo, so to speak.

Today’s curriculum included a visit to our workshop and the studios for further inspiration and a very real insight into professional practice.
