Archimedes realizes the media concept for the Deutsches Museum Munich

New media technology within the framework of the museum’s “Future Initiative”

The Deutsches Museum is not only the largest, but also one of the most exciting and important science and technology museums in the world. On an area of currently more than 45,000 m² more than 35 exhibitions are presented, immersing the annually 1.5 million visitors in topics ranging from astrophysics to cell biology.

In order to ensure a modern presentation of the collections in the future, the museum is currently working on a complete modernisation of its exhibitions. In this frame, Archimedes Exhibitions is responsible for media planning for the entire building. The aim is to renew and standardise the many multimedia stations – audio, video, games and more – by 2020.

To this end, we are launching a comprehensive Content Management System (CMS), which will certainly be one of the first of its kind in the world and will thus set new standards for the future. It provides the individual areas with a uniform interface and operating system without losing the individuality of the stations. The aim of the project is to make the handling of the media stations as simple and efficient as possible: in future, new content can be easily integrated and continuously updated.

The media planning takes place within the framework of the “Future Initiative” of the Deutsches Museum.
